All clear, campus status normal.

Update #1

The National Weather service has updated the original forecast for severe weather in our area. The storm is expected to move through Southwest Louisiana between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. this evening, with the most active part of the storm between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Campus will remain open and all classes after 4:00 p.m. will be moved to online delivery.

Students should check Moodle for messages from faculty about changes in class assignments for classes starting after 2 p.m. today. Students with extenuating circumstances who cannot attend class should communicate with their instructors as necessary. Employees with extenuating circumstances who cannot report to work as scheduled should speak with their supervisors in advance.

Please closely monitor McNeese email, mcneese.edu and official social media channels for updates, and continue to monitor local weather and messages from local law enforcement officials concerning street flooding and road closures.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a storm front that will bring severe weather to areas of southern Louisiana beginning tomorrow afternoon and into the late evening hours. At this time, McNeese campus will remain open tomorrow, Tues., Jan. 24, 2023 but will transition to online instruction for classes that begin after 4:00 p.m.

The storm is forecast to move through Southwest Louisiana between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and could bring damaging winds and localized flooding with a slight chance of hail and tornadoes. The storm system should be completely out of our area by 11:00 p.m. Students with extenuating circumstances who cannot attend class should communicate with their instructors as necessary. Employees with extenuating circumstances who cannot report to work should speak with their supervisors in advance.
