Women & Gender Studies Luncheon: The Many Faces of Maritime

What comes to mind when you hear the word “maritime”? What jobs and roles exist within the industry? Join us for the next Women and Gender Studies Luncheon on Wednesday, October 18, 12:30-1:30 p.m., in the McNeese Room of Frazar Memorial Library. “The Many Faces of Maritime” will feature Hallie Pendleton, Doreen Badeaux, and Peyton Coker of Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA). They will discuss jobs, roles, and more, and they note that many people live their entire lives in port cities and never realize the maritime industry exists. WISTA invites us to explore this diverse part of our community and WISTA’s mission and impact on it.
