
Women and Gender Studies Piano Performance

On Thursday, November 16, The Women and Gender Studies Lecture Series will offer a musical treat. Pianist and McNeese Associate Professor of Music, Lina Morita, will discuss Clarice Assad’s musical style and perform her works. A powerful communicator renowned for her musical scope and versatility, Brazilian-American Clarice Assad is a significant artistic voice in the classical, world music, pop, and jazz genres. The Grammy Award-nominated composer, celebrated pianist, inventive vocalist and educator is acclaimed for her evocative colors, rich textures, and diverse stylistic range.
Join us for this free presentation with a light lunch, 12:30-1:30 p.m., in Squires Auditorium, and please note the change from our usual day of the week and venue. We hope to see you there!
