Rare Book Petting Zoo
McNeese State University’s Frazar Memorial Library is hosting a Rare Book Petting Zoo on Thursday, Oct. 3, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Archives Reading Room.
McNeese students, faculty, staff and the public are invited view the treasures from the library’s book collections, including fore-edge painted books, art books, rare first editions, and hand-painted illustrations. Guests may handle the books and take photographs, but no food or drink near the books.
This event may be particularly interesting to students pursuing or thinking of pursuing English, history, and humanities degrees. Students will also experience the special collections and archives department overall, a resource they may not know they could access.
