McNeese State University will host an Internship Soiree on Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 5-6:30 p.m. on the second floor of the SEED Center.
This event is co-hosted by the McNeese Career & Student Development Center and the Southwest Louisiana Economic Development Alliance and is open to students of all majors and classifications.
“Internships give students opportunities to network, gain essential skills, and implement what they are learning in the classroom,” says College of Business internship director Morgan Turpin. “The internship experience builds resumes and often leads to full-time employment after graduation.”
Similar to McNeese’s biannual Career and Internship Fair, the Internship Soiree allows students to meet and network with employers offering internship opportunities.
Each employer will have a table to display information about their company or organization and will provide students with internship job descriptions. Students should dress professionally and bring copies of their resumes.
“Internships and cooperative education opportunities are why McNeese students make excellent candidates for employers,” says Dr. Paul Rainey, Career & Student Development Center coordinator. “McNeese is employers’ First Choice institution when seeking new hires because our students graduate with on-the-job experience.”
