McNEESE STATE UNIVERSITY
McNeese State University’s W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present the McNeese Choirs, Concert Chorale and Chamber Singers in a free concert at 7 p.m. Friday, April 29, in Ralph Squires Recital Hall under the direction of Dr. Darryl Jones, who is retiring this spring after 22 years as director of choral activities.
Faculty accompanists for the choirs will be Dr. HaeJu Choi and Dr. Lina Morita.
The choirs will sing music selections from such composers as Michael Haydn, Franz Joseph Haydn, Cecil Effinger, Cy Coleman, Stephen Sondheim, Randall Stroope and Dan Forrest. The singers will also be joined onstage for several selections by McNeese choir alumni who have performed with Jones over the years.
A reception to honor Jones and the performers will follow the concert.
