Three McNeese Rodeo Members Make Finals

The College National Finals Rodeo runs through Saturday, June 16.

Three members of the McNeese State University rodeo team have qualified for Saturday’s (June 15) finals at the 71st College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo. The top 12 competitors in each of the events qualify for Saturday’s championship finals. 

The women’s team heads into the finals in first place. Mia Manzanares, of Opelousas, will defend two of her 2018 championship titles as she enters the finals ranked first in women’s all around and tied for fourth in goat tying. 

Gabe Soileau, of Bunkie, will also compete in the finals after placing fourth in steer wrestling. 

Waylon Bourgeois, of Church Point, qualified in bareback riding after taking 11th place.
