Dean Day Named Director for Louisiana SBDC at McNeese
Dean Day has been named director of the Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) at McNeese State University, effective Feb. 1, 2026. Previously, Day was a business consultant with the center and specializes in helping small business owners with startups, sales plans, financial projections and insurance compliance.
Earlier this month, Day attended the LSBDC Professional Development Meeting in Baton Rouge, where he was honored with the Business Start Award for assisting with the launch of 30 new businesses, the highest number among consultants statewide in 2025. Day was also recognized for facilitating more than $4 million in capital infusion for Southwest Louisiana businesses.
The LSBDC at McNeese, located in the Henning SEED Center, provides no-cost, confidential business consulting and affordable training to help entrepreneurs start, grow and strengthen their businesses. Through one-on-one guidance and access to market research, the LSBDC at McNeese supports informed decision-making and long-term success for small businesses in Calcasieu, Cameron, Allen, Jeff Davis and Beauregard parishes.
The LSBDC network, hosted by Louisiana State University, is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, Louisiana Economic Development, and participating universities, including McNeese State University. All SBA programs are extended to the public on a nondiscriminatory basis. This program is supported by federal funding. Full disclosure available at https://bit.ly/4ntLdfS.
