New Compositions Premier Online

Composer and Associate Professor of Music Bill Rose has been busy this semester writing and performing several of his premier works for the alphorn, as well as for the organ, timpani and a brass quintet.

Bill recently performed two of his new compositions at the online Midwest Alphorn Retreat “March Madness” concert hosted by Sam Houston State University – “The Girl From Glarus” for alphorn quartet and “New Glarus Call en Echo” for alphorn duo. A recording of the event is available at www.midwestalphornretreat.us.

He will perform two other pieces on April 11 at 6 p.m. at the Worshipful Brass Facebook Group Virtual Easter Recital. They are “Chorale Prelude on REGENT SQUARE” for alphorn quartet and organ and “He Arose!/Christ Is Risen” for brass quintet, timpani and organ. This event will be available to view at worshipfulbrass.com/Easter-2021.
