The McNeese State University women’s rodeo team placed second and the men’s team took third at the recent Southwest Texas Junior College Rodeo in Uvalde, Texas.
In goat tying, Mia Manzanares, Opelousas, took first and Kaylee Cormier, Iowa, placed second.
In breakaway roping, Kelsey Brashear, Iowa, placed second and Kolbie Brashear, Iowa, tied for fifth.
In barrel racing, Elizabeth Broussard, Estherwood, tied for fifth while Grace Hanley, Welsh, placed seventh.
In steer wrestling, Gavin Soileau, Bunkie, took first and Gabe Soileau, Bunkie, finished sixth.
In bareback riding, Waylon Bourgeois, Church Point, placed second, Sandro Ferretti, Noves France, took fourth and Layne Graham, Jay, Okla., finished fifth.
In saddle bronc riding, Lathan Lyons, Eunice, placed third and Ryder Sanford, Carlyss, finished seventh.
