May 1 is the financial aid application priority deadline for 2020-21 at McNeese State University.

“New and continuing students should begin the FAFSA (free application for federal student aid) procedures now for federal, state, university and private funding options,” said Taina Savoit, director of financial aid at McNeese. “FAFSA applications will be accepted after May 1, but students should expect delays in their awards.”

Financial aid awards are based on a student’s need or outstanding academic, athletic or performance ability. According to Savoit, each year McNeese awards $34 million in financial aid through grants, work-study programs and student loans.

To complete the FAFSA, students should visit studentaid.gov/sa/fafsa.
