McNEESE STATE UNIVERSITY
The McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present a free junior recital by MaryKate F. Core, a mezzo-soprano, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, in Tritico Theatre.
Core, from Lake Charles, will perform works by Handel, Brahms, Debussy and Elgar. The recital will be presented jointly with Lara Connally, soprano, and Dr. Ulysses Loken will assist on piano.
At McNeese, Core has performed choral solos, in composer showcases, opera workshop, McNeese and Lake Charles ACTS theatre and was a featured performer in a program at McNeese by composer Melissa Dunphy.
She is a recipient of a choral service award, departmental award and a theatre tech scholarship.
