Description

The Office of International Student Services invites MSU STUDENTS to apply for a Student Worker position.  This position is a one-semester, part-time position.  All student employees are hired on a semester basis.

Employment Date: Positions are available immediately.  Student positions are evaluated each semester to determine if a student employee is eligible to return for future semesters.

  • Duration: Fall 2025 to Spring 2026
  • Hours per week: 10-15
  • Pay rate: $11 per hour

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Answer phone calls and take messages from walk-in students and staff
  • Manage office filing, mail, and document disposal
  • Discuss study abroad program catalog with interested students
  • Assist with online webinars for prospective international students
  • Provide support for on-campus promotional or cultural events

Qualifications

Required:

At the time of employment, student must:

  • Be in good academic standing
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

  • Graduate student currently enrolled full-time
  • Experience with international student affairs or study abroad
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Canva

Transcripts from Foreign Universities: Prospective faculty submitting transcripts from foreign universities or schools must have the coursework evaluated for equivalency to United States-accredited coursework by a University-approved agency. The prospective faculty member is responsible for the cost of the evaluation. McNeese typically accepts evaluations by World Education Services (www.wes.org) or Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc.www.ece.org.
