Description
MCNEESE STATE UNIVERSITY invites MSU students to apply for the position of Line Technician for the McNeese Autism Program.
POSITION INFORMATION: The McNeese Autism Program is a university-based clinic within the Department of Psychology. The Line Technician will be working directly with children with disabilities. Student employees are hired when positions are available. This is a part-time, student employment position.
Other MAP information includes:
- The clinic operates year-round including summer; the clinic does close for university designated holidays and forced closures.
- Hours of operation are 8:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Monday through Friday
- Will work around student’s school schedule
- Pay increases after initial on-the-job-training
- Opportunity to work extra hours per week
SALARY: $8.25 per hour to start; $10 per hour upon completion of initial training. Pay increase possible based on performance evaluation score which occur bi-annually.
EMPLOYMENT DATE: Begins immediately
Responsibilities
- Implement behavior change programs to improve patients’ quality of life
- Implement behavior change programs to increase patients’ abilities to communicate, vocalize, be independent, interact with friends, play appropriately, and so much more
- Collect and record patient behavior data to track behavior change
- Communicate regularly with patient, family, members, caregivers, and supervisor(s)
Qualifications
- Must be enthusiastic and motivated to work with children with disabilities
- High school diploma is required
- Experience working with children is preferred, but not required
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check
- Must be able to commit to work 15 hours per week
- Availability to work across semesters including the spring, summer, and fall is preferred, but not required.
