By popular demand….we are pleased to announce that Welcome Back activities in 2017 will extend beyond the first week of school!
During the spring 2017 semester, McNeese Greek Life received the approval of the McNeese student body for a fee assessment to contribute to programs and resources beneficial to all McNeese students. Join the 14 Greek-lettered organizations within the McNeese Greek Unity Board for a day filled with food, fun, and fellowship. Organizations will set up table displays to distribute information about joining their groups or supporting their philanthropic efforts for the new academic year.
The annual Welcome Back Student Organizations Fair is a chance for students, faculty, and staff to become acquainted with our 120+ recognized student organizations. Organizations will be recruiting new members and sharing information about their plans for the new school year.
9:00am – 12:00pm – As a promo for the Welcome Back Pool Party that will take place later in the day, the Student Life Coalition will host free novelties, food, and music in the Student Union-New Ranch.
5:00pm – Until – Student Life Coalition will host a Welcome Back Pool Party at the Recreation Complex including fun swimming pool competitions, free food, music, and much more!
Various student support departments and academic areas will host table setups in the New Ranch to meet new students, give information about the services they provide, and to answer general questions.
Local businesses & community service agencies in the McNeese area will have booths in the New Ranch Atrium to culminate Howdy Rowdy Welcome Week. Several businesses will be marketing their products and services, while others may be offering opportunities for part-time employment and internships for students. Most tables will offer free promotional items, samples, and prize drawings.
The McNeese Student Government Association will host a day to show its appreciation of the McNeese student body. Come to this event to learn more about how you can be connected to and involved with the organization. There will also be free food, music, and cool giveaways.
Student Health Services will coordinate a program to promote student wellness. In order to succeed in college (and in life), it is important to be WELL. There will be tables with information and resources on the following topics: academic health, emotional health, nutritional health, sexual health, and healthy alcohol consumption.
McNeese’s many campus ministry student organizations will be present in the New Ranch Atrium to distribute information to students about services they provide along with how to join their organizations. There will also be information available regarding attendance to their worship services, meetings, and free lunch programs.
