McNEESE STATE UNIVERSITY

McNeese’s Heifer Development Program – a one-of-a-kind Louisiana program that supports the local cattle industry – was featured in an article in the recent issue of BEEF magazine, the nation’s leading cattle publication.
The article focuses on custom heifer development and how beef producers are discovering that sending heifers off the farm for development helps cut costs and improves breeding.
Dr. William Storer, agricultural sciences professor and research associate with the heifer development program at the Fuller Farm in Kinder, talked about the benefits of the university’s program.
