McNeese schedules guest clarinet recital

The McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present a free clarinet recital by Dr. Jennifer Iles at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, in Tritico Theatre. The program is part of the spring Faculty/Guest Recital Series hosted by the department.
The performance will feature “Clarinet Concerto in A Major” by W.A. Mozart, “Fantastucke (Fantasy Pieces), Op. 73” by Robert Schumann, “Sonatina for Clarinet and Piano” by Malcolm Arnold and “Romanian Rhapsody in A Major” by George Enesco.
Isles received her Doctorate of Musical Arts in clarinet performance from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, her master’s degree in music from the University of North Texas and her bachelor’s degree in music from McNeese.
Currently, Isles is an adjunct professor at Angelina College-Polk County Center in Livingston, Texas, and serves as the second clarinetist with the Symphony of Southeast Texas. She also performs with the Brazos Valley and Lake Charles symphonies.
