McNeese Rodeo Update

After three days of competition, several McNeese State University rodeo members are currently among the top 20 in the various categories of competition at the 70th College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo., that runs through Saturday, June 16.
After three go rounds in steer wrestling, Gabe Soileau, Bunkie, is ranked No. 2 and Remey Parrot, Mamou, is No. 10.
After three go rounds, Cole Frey, Morganza, is No. 5 in tie down roping. Zach Jongbloed, Iowa, is tied for No. 15 after his two go rounds. His third go round is on Friday.
In bareback riding, Colton Onyett, Sutter, California, is in 12th place after two go rounds, with his third go round scheduled on Friday.
Mia Manzanares, Opelousas, is in 19th place in breakaway roping and 16th place in goat tying after two rounds. Her third go rounds for both events are scheduled on Thursday.
Finals are set for Saturday and the top 12 qualifiers in each of the nine events qualify for Saturday’s championship finals.
