Four McNeese Rodeo Members Make Finals

Four members of the McNeese State University rodeo team have qualified for Saturday’s (June 16) finals at the 70th College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo. The top 12 competitors in each of the events qualify for Saturday’s championship finals.
Mia Manzanares, of Opelousas, has earned spots in both goat tying and breakaway roping Saturday evening. She placed first in goat tying and eighth in breakaway roping to reach the finals.
Zach Jongbloed, of Iowa, earned a spot in the finals by placing second overall in tie down roping.
After three rounds in steer wrestling, Gabe Soileau, of Bunkie, took seventh place and earned his spot in the finals.
Colton Onyett, of Sutter, Calif., has qualified in bareback riding after placing ninth after his three go rounds.
