The Write to Excellence Center (WTEC) is a free resource to help students, faculty and staff develop and strengthen their writing skills.
Our tutors provide guidance for all steps of the writing process, from brainstorming to final draft revisions. Tutors are prepared to help you improve your writing in any academic discipline. In addition, we can help you break down your assignments into manageable chunks and pace yourself. You can also use the space for study.
Tutors can also provide assistance with other forms of professional writing, including résumé development and writing for academic publications. While tutors do not proofread or line-edit for you, they can help you develop your personal proofreading skills. To schedule an appointment, visit mcneese.mywconline.com.
Students can also receive assistance in understanding literature and other reading materials from classes by indicating on the appointment form what services they need. All appointments are in the WTEC and are scheduled through the same system.
While face-to-face appointments are more effective, students may opt to make e-tutoring appointments, which are asynchronous. For e-tutoring appointments, you must attach your essay prompt as a Word document to your appointment block (do not send PDF or shared docs, etc.) and also attach assignment instructions. Tutors have up to two business days to respond with comments. There is a helpful video for this on the mcneese.mywconline.com page, which you’ll see after you sign in.

Ms. Anna Grace Bizzle is an Academic Advisor for the College of Nursing and Health Professions. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Secondary Education from Mississippi State University. Her favorite part of advising at McNeese is being a resource for students as they get used to the expectations of college and helping students pursue their degrees at such a wonderful school.
