Three Visiting Poets to Present Free Reading

Poets Catharine Savage Brosman, Olivia McNeely Pass and Stella Nesanovich will present a free reading at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the McNeese State University Alumni Center.
All three poets’ work has appeared in Louisiana Poets: A Literary Guide. Brosman and Pass edited the volume and will be reading their own poetry as well as poetry of other Louisiana poets. Nesanovich will read her own poetry as well as a poem by the late McNeese professor Leo Luke Marcello.
Brosman has authored several books of poetry and her poems and scholarly work have been published in numerous journals. She has taught at Rice, Tulane and other universities. Upon her retirement from Tulane she was honored as Professor Emerita.
Pass has published in many journals and was the editor of the “Louisiana English Journal.” She was a professor of American literature at Nicholls State University.
Nesanovich has published numerous poems in journals as well as authoring several books of her own poetry. She spent most of her career teaching English at McNeese, which honored her as Professor Emerita after her retirement.
The event is sponsored by the McNeese Honors College and the Department of English and Foreign Languages. An informal reception will follow the presentation. For further information, email Scott Goins at sgoins@mcneese.edu or call 337-475-5326.
