McNeese’s Delta Sigma Pi is Honored
McNeese State University’s chapter of Delta Sigma Pi in the College of Business earned the Chapter of Excellence at its national conference in Houston, Texas.
“It is amazing and inspiring how the student leadership team has led the group to this outstanding achievement,” exclaimed Dr. Shuming Bai, dean of the McNeese College of Business.
Delta Sigma Pi is a coeducational professional business fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities.
The organization prepares business students for successful professional careers, but it also instills values of service and principled leadership that characterize members in all phases of life, according to Deacon Richard, chapter president and Gulf South Region Collegian of the year.
“We have a great group of students and I’m proud of Deacon’s leadership, the other members of the executive committee and members whose hard work led to this high honor,” explained Rebecca McNabb, instructor of accounting and chapter adviser for Delta Sigma Pi.
Two students also received Delta Sigma Pi scholarships. Richard, a secondary business education major from Eunice, received the Gulf South Region Frank M. Busch scholarship. Adepoju “PJ” Adetunji, a finance major from Nigeria, received one of only five General Undergraduate Scholarships.
“We are proud to represent McNeese and the College of Business at the highest level,” said Richard. “Being a member of Delta Sigma Pi allows students to gain knowledge and to connect with the business field while helping each other step out of our comfort zones.”
McNeese students studying in the College of Business are invited to join. For more information contact Jonathon McMahon at jmcmahon1@mcneese.edu or McNabb at rmcnabb3@mcneese.edu.
