McNeese Weather Announcement

UPDATE: JAN. 17
McNeese State University will return to normal operations on Thursday, Jan. 18 with offices reopening at 7:30 a.m. and classes resuming on-campus instruction. Employees should contact their supervisors and students should contact their instructors as soon as possible if ongoing impacts from the weather prohibit their safe return to campus or ability to resume job duties or course work.
As the winter weather and freezing conditions continue through the weekend, we urge our entire McNeese family to be safe when traveling and exercise an abundance of caution on bridges, roadways and sidewalks. In the event of an emergency or if you need assistance on campus, please call McNeese Police at 337-475-5711.

Due to impacts from persisting low temperatures, McNeese will continue modified operations for Wednesday, Jan. 17. Instructors should continue to offer classes online as possible, and students should contact their instructors if they are unable to complete assignments or access online content. Although campus offices are closed, students may continue to email offices/staff and emails will be addressed as soon as possible. Employees in non-academic units should consult with their supervisor to determine if working remotely is necessary.

UPDATE: Jan. 16, 11 a.m. –McNeese officials are currently assessing the state of the campus and monitoring road conditions to determine if it is safe enough to return to campus on Wednesday, Jan. 17. An official announcement will be made later today. Please check your McNeese email, the McNeese website and social media for continuing updates.
ORIGINAL MESSAGE: Due to the chance of freezing precipitation impacting roadway conditions tomorrow morning, Tuesday, Jan. 16, McNeese State University will transition to online course delivery.
Students should check Moodle for information about specific classes and communicate with their instructors as soon as possible if they are unable to complete coursework. Rowdy’s Dining Hall will continue operating on the normal schedule, but retail dining locations will be closed. Students may continue to email offices/staff and emails will be addressed as soon as possible.
Employees in non-academic units should consult with their supervisor to determine if working remotely is necessary. The men’s basketball game against Lamar University will go on as scheduled tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Legacy Center.
