McNeese Donates PPE Equipment to Local Hospital

McNeese State University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions has donated surgical caps, facial cone masks, surgical and sterile gowns and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to DeQuincy Memorial Hospital to help address shortages.
“In the past, hospitals have donated supplies to us for students to use,” says Dr. Peggy Wolfe, college dean. “Thanks to them and their generosity, our program has grown and we’re happy to give back and return the favor.”
Heather Royer, community outreach director for DeQuincy Memorial Hospital, says these supplies are crucial to ensuring the safety of hospital staff.
“We’ve had donations from the plants, from community members, even from veterinarian offices giving what they can, and we’re happy to take it – every little bit can help us get through a few hours or another shift,” she says. “It’s been so inspiring to see the community come together and we’re so appreciative of McNeese’s contribution.”
