The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch and Cold Weather Advisory due to forecasted weather conditions that are expected to impact our region this weekend. At this time, temperatures well below freezing are anticipated from noon on Sunday through noon on Monday, which could result in hazardous road conditions.
Out of an abundance of caution, McNeese leadership has decided to transition regular campus operations to online course delivery and remote work on Monday, Jan. 26. Leadership will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the weekend and will announce a decision regarding campus operations for Tuesday, Jan. 27, no later than Monday.
Please continue to monitor your McNeese email, the McNeese website, official social media channels, and local media outlets for updates.
Campus offices will only function through email and virtual platforms on Monday; however, dining operations in the cafeteria will be available for brunch and dinner on Sunday and Monday. Residence halls will remain open for campus residents. Non-campus residents should refrain from coming to campus on Monday. If it is necessary for students or employees to access any campus buildings during the closure, they must first report to McNeese Police.
Employees are encouraged to bring home today any resources needed to work remotely on Monday. Employees should review the Temporary Remote Work Policy to ensure they are prepared to be fully compliant. Employees should plan to remain available for communication throughout the day and, when possible, transition any previously scheduled in-person meetings to an online or virtual format using platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet. Monday may also be used to complete mandatory training.
