The McNeese State University men’s and women’s rodeo teams both placed second at the Sam Houston State University Rodeo competition in Huntsville, Texas.
In saddle bronc riding, Lathan Lyons, Eunice, won first and Ryder Sanford, Carlyss, tied for fifth.
In steer wrestling, Gavin Soileau, Bunkie, finished first, William Heinen, Lake Charles, placed second and Grant Morein, Ville Platte, took eighth.
In bareback riding, Waylon Bourgeois, Church Point, placed second and Sandro Ferretti, Noves, France, finished third.
In goat tying, Ashleigh Young, Mansfield, Texas, won first, Mia Manzanares, Opelousas, placed second and Kaylee Cormier, Iowa, tied for third.
In barrel racing, Chloe Frey, Opelousas, tied for sixth.
