McDaniel Named Art Educator of the Year

A McNeese art history professor has been named a recipient of a 2021 Mayor’s Arts Award sponsored by the Arts & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana and the city of Lake Charles.

Bridget McDaniel, a specialist in ancient sculpture, has been named Art Educator of the Year for her outstanding work teaching new generations of artists at McNeese.

Bridget, an educator for 25 years in the Department of Visual Arts, is also the coordinator of the department’s academic studies abroad program. She has taken students out of the classroom to locations around the globe to provide a greater understanding and a new international perspective of the world’s art, culture and environments.
