Student-Athletes Celebrate Dr. Seuss at Nelson Elementary

Student-athletes joined McNeese President Dr. Daryl Burckel to celebrate National Read Across America Day with students at Nelson Elementary School.
The event celebrated the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss (Ted Geisel) and is designed to encourage children to read.
The McNeese group visited different classes to read from several Dr. Seuss classics, including Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat and Oh, The Places You’ll Go!
Nelson Elementary boasts a large number of teachers and administrators who hold degrees from McNeese. The school adopted the Cowboy as its mascot and the school colors are blue and gold!
