First Choice Young Professional

Irvin Louque, a 2011 natural resource conservation management graduate, recently received the Outstanding Young Professional Award from the Louisiana Recreation and Park Association. This award recognizes individuals with leadership skills and who have contributed to the park and recreation field.
Irvin is currently the program manager for Tuten and Riverside Parks for the city of Lake Charles. He also oversees conservation and environmental education projects.
The city has partnered with the College of Agricultural Sciences on projects that allow students to gain hands-on experience and Irvin is a resource and mentor for students in their fields of study.
