Carry on the Dream Exhibit Coming to Lake Charles

McNeese is collaborating with the City of Lake Charles and the Ward 3 Marshal’s Office to host the “Carry on the Dream” exhibit, which features a rare display of the hearse that carried the body of prominent civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The statewide exhibit tour is presented by the University of Louisiana System’s Reginald F. Lewis Scholars Program, in partnership with Raising Cane’s. The free exhibit will be on display in the Lake Charles Civic Center Exhibition Hall (900 Lakeshore Dr.) Tuesday, Feb. 8, through Thursday, Feb 10, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day.
The Reginald F. Lewis Scholars Program aims to enhance the collegiate experience of black male students in the UL System by providing educational programs, mentoring programs and opportunities and co-curricular experiences.
