Academy Overview

The 2026 McNeese Summer Engineering Research Academy at McNeese State University offers high school students entering 9th through 12th grades an exciting two-week research experience using state-of-the-art university equipment.

Meeting for one week in June and one week in July, students will explore different engineering disciplines, including robotics, civil, electrical, and chemical engineering through hands-on projects led by McNeese professors.

HIGHLIGHTS
WEEK 1: VEX Robotics in the morning (8 AM – 11:30 AM) and Chemical Engineering: Clean Water & Energy in the afternoon (1 PM – 4:30 PM).
WEEK 2: Concrete Mix Design & Testing in the morning (8 AM – 11:30 AM) and Skyward Science: High-Altitude Balloon Data & Python in the afternoon (1 PM – 4:30 PM).
Learn from McNeese Engineering Professors.
Eat lunch each day in the new Student Union.
Leave with a McNeese Certificate of Achievement.

Ms. Anna Grace Bizzle is an Academic Advisor for the College of Nursing and Health Professions. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Secondary Education from Mississippi State University. Her favorite part of advising at McNeese is being a resource for students as they get used to the expectations of college and helping students pursue their degrees at such a wonderful school.
