Daniel Hennigan

Daniel Hennigan has earned degrees from McNeese State University (Bachelor’s in 2014 and Master’s in Criminal Justice in 2018), Lamar University (Master’s in Educational Administration, 2017) and Liberty University (PhD in Criminal Justice, 2024). Dr. Hennigan’s doctoral work focuses on relationships between school communities and the nature and extent of criminality (School Structure as a Mechanism for Crime Deterrence).

Prior to joining McNeese in the Fall of 2022, Dr. Hennigan taught and coached in the Calcasieu Parish public school system. Dr. Hennigan taught Biology, Algebra I, Algebra III, Speech, Law Studies, Civics, English II, English IV, Business English and P.E. Additionally, Dr. Hennigan maintains certifications in English, Social Studies, Biology and School Leadership. Dr. Hennigan coached baseball, football and cross country throughout his tenure-including multiple state tournament appearances and a State Championship.

Dr. Hennigan is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps Reserve, separating as a Sergeant in 2018 after 6 years of service.
