Faculty Spotlight: Judy Hand

Dr. Judy Hand

Dr. Judy Hand is an Associate Professor of Music and earned her doctorate in flute performance from Louisiana State University. She is a Bank One/Henry Alexander Endowed Professorship in Music recipient and has previously served as Assistant Department Head of the W.A. and Dorothy Department of Performing Arts.

During her time at McNeese, Dr. Hand has been awarded numerous arts grants, including the prestigious Louisiana Artist Fellowship. She has been a presenter at various conferences and her articles on pedagogy, performance and auditioning have been published in multiple journals.

Dr. Hand’s students have consistently won performance competitions and have been accepted into prestigious graduate schools both nationally and internationally.
