Outsourced Marketing/Advertising Policy

Policy

It is the policy of McNeese State University that the overall development and application of marketing and advertising strategies throughout the University rest primarily with the Office of Marketing and Communication (MarCom). The MarCom Office is responsible for the development of marketing and advertising strategies and for coordinating the external marketing and advertising activities of the entire University. No marketing consultants, marketing research firms, social medial consultants, advertising agencies, graphic design firms, or web design firms may be hired without prior approval from the MarCom Office.

All McNeese State University marketing and advertising activities will be coordinated through, and approved by, the MarCom Office. These institutional activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Logos and unit/department/office identity;
  • Advertising (the term advertising includes traditional media channels – television, radio, billboards, magazines, newspapers, etc.) as well as marketing communications that utilize new media channels including websites, email solicitations, product placement, and other activities involved in marketing at McNeese State University;
  • Promotional videos;
  • McNeese State University webpages;
  • Market research; and
  • Institutional social media.
