Department of History

Welcome to the Department of History

The History Department offers a selection of survey and upper-level classes for the general campus community and our majors, as well as a B.A. in History (with concentrations in History or Social Studies Education) and a B.A. in Liberal Studies (with concentrations in the Humanities, Philosophy, Pre-Law, Geography, Women's Studies, Louisiana Studies, and Religious Studies).

We currently have ten full-time faculty, whose research specializations range from European History (England, Spain, Romania) to U.S. History (Louisiana, Civil War, Asian-Americans, American Revolution) to Latin American and Caribbean History (Haiti).
