McNeese Speech and Debate Students Win in Arizona

The speech and debate team at McNeese State University came home with a national title from the Pi Kappa Delta Comprehensive National Tournament in Arizona.
Pi Kappa Delta is the oldest national speech and debate organization in the country. The tournament had over 50 schools attending and 1000 competitive entries across various categories.
First place winners are national champions and the top 30% of competitors in each category earn excellent awards.
Sophomore Caleb Wilson, a psychology major from Lake Charles, placed first in poetry interpretation and earned an excellent award in prose interpretation.
Emmitt Goins, a freshman from DeRidder, won an excellent award in impromptu speaking.
Sophomore Lianne Montelibano, a pre-med major from Moss Bluff, won an excellent award in interviewing.
