McNeese Rodeo Teams Win Final Rodeo Competitions

The McNeese State University men and women’s rodeo teams took first in the final rodeo competition of the season at Wharton County Junior College in Wharton, Texas.
Cole Frey, Morganza, placed second in the men’s all-around category.
In steer wrestling, Zach Jongbloed, Iowa, placed first, Frey and Jospeh Denison, Iowa, tied for fourth, Remey Parrot, Mamou, placed seventh and Gabe Soileau, Bunkie, finished in eighth.
In team roping, Frey placed third.
In saddle bronc riding, Ryder Sanford, Sulphur, placed third and Lathan Lyons, Eunice, finished fourth.
In bareback riding, Colton Onyett, Rangely, Colorado, finished fourth.
In tie down roping, Frey finished fifth.
Mia Manzanares, Opelousas, won women’s all-around champion and she took first place in both breakaway roping and goat tying.
Also in goat tying, Carly Hibbs, Prineville, Oregon, placed seventh and Kassie Deveer, Geismar, finished ninth.
In barrel racing, Grace Hanley, Welsh, placed sixth and Kathryn Murphy, Iowa, placed 10th.
