Angry Black Woman

Fejiro Okifo

__________

I’ve been called a lot of things
angry is one of them
loud
but you don’t really hear me
do you
why is it my laughter
steals your joy
my tears
quench your thirst
my smile
makes you weak
you hate to see
my shoulders even
you stamp me into the ground
And Still I Rise
that would make me angry
too
