__________

A Ballad for Those Playing Dead

dangerous mezzanines
honey spilt suddenlies
house of sand practice
Western exit strategies
grim blessed reaper
a viral hum opera
thieving empire
a repear’s ballad
an obscene drought

__________

Star Light, Star Bright

circa March 2025, SpaceX Rocket Explodes

Is the satellite’s raw
materials happy
to be returning?
Did the satellite’s raw
materials miss
the home
from which it was
removed? Did space
feel like what it’s like
to be home? Was it
the satellite’s raw
materials’ first time
showering?
Does the satellite’s
raw materials know
descent is always
the product of
ascension?
Did the satellite’s
raw materials’ scare
from the lack
of temperature
regulation? Is gravity
the only thing
they’ve lost
friends to?

I wish I may, I wish
the people had
might, to put Starlink
to sleep, so we could wake
with what nature has
decided to befall
us, and not Musk.
And of course,
my condolences
to The Bahamas.
