The McNeese State University Regional High School Honor Band Weekend will be hosted Feb. 27-28 by the McNeese Bands program.
(February 25, 2015) A property and casualty insurance pre-licensing course will be offered from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. March 13-14 and 20-21 in Room 118 of the Burton Business Center on the McNeese State University campus. Cost is $279 per person, which includes textbooks. This course provides 40 hours of class time suitable to prepare an individual to sit for the licensing exam. Topics include basic terminology, concepts, sales, the fundamentals of insurance law and an agent’s responsibility. March 6 is the deadline for registration. (February 20, 2015) The McNeese State University Meal Club will offer eight meals on Thursdays this spring prepared by students in the nutrition and food science program within the Harold and Pearl Dripps Department of Agricultural Sciences. These meals – “Flavors of the World”- will be served from 5-7 p.m. in the Gayle Annex Food Services Lab behind Gayle Hall. Students from the Department of Performing Arts will provide entertainment and gourmet oil and vinegar tastings will be offered during the final two meals. The dates and menus include: Feb.

The SAGE lecture series at McNeese State University will continue its spring program on Louisiana history with a lecture on the early days of New Orleans jazz by Dr. John Troutman.

(January 21, 2015) The Louisiana State University Shreveport Continuing Education Department will present a seminar, “National Electrical Code,” from 6-9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Feb. 2-18, on the McNeese State University campus. The seminar will prepare the participant to sit for a journeyman, master electrician or state contractor license. The seminar will also work to enhance participants’ overall knowledge of the National Electric Code. Cost is $295 and doesn’t include the Study Reference and Electrical Theory manual also required for the course.
