Happy Pride everyone! I have been struggling all month to write this little letter introducing the Pride issue of Boudin. There is so much going on in the world and in this country right now that I have found it difficult to celebrate this year. It seems every time I open my phone it is some anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, or some other horrific attack on Queer existence. However, reading the submissions for this Pride issue was a shining light for me. It was a reminder of all of the amazing creative work being done by Queer artists. Our stories serve as a record of our existence and experiences, and they are so important to share.
I want to thank everyone who submitted. It was truly my honor to read every word. I also want to thank the Boudin staff for their help in putting this together. This issue is for all the Queer people out there, especially our trans brothers and sisters that need us now more than ever. We would not have Pride without them, and we must protect and fight for them however we can. No matter what gets thrown at us we always persevere. I am so proud of all the work we received for this issue. I am so excited to share it with you all. Happy Pride!
