The
Write To Excellence Center
Welcome to the Write to
Excellence Center (WTEC) at McNeese State University. The WTEC offers feedback on written work for all McNeese students, faculty, and staff. Our goal is to help you
become a better writer. We believe that collaboration is the
key to successful writing of all kinds. We will not proofread or
correct your writing, but we will go over your work with you,
help you think critically about your own writing, and give
suggestions on how to make it stronger.
Sessions can be
scheduled for all types of writing, and individual sessions can
last anywhere between five minutes and a half hour. Whether you
are working on an essay, a biology report, a grant proposal,
a senior project, or a graduate thesis, we will do our best to
assist you. If you and your classmates from a particular class
wish to schedule group tutorials, WTEC tutors will schedule
one-hour meetings twice a week to discuss and work with you on
class writing assignments.
You do not, however,
have to schedule a session to use our resources. The WTEC
welcomes "walk-ins" during its hours of operation, and the WTEC
houses something for everyone, from writing handbooks and
internet access to fresh coffee and free advice. You can always use the WTEC as a place where you do your writing — whether you need
assistance or not.
