National Women's Studies Association (NWSA) McNeese maintains an institutional membership in the NWSA.

National Organization for Women (NOW) Founded in 1966.

Women in Media and News Founded in 2001.

Women's Media Center. Founded in 2005. This relatively recent organization was founded in 2012.

Publications and Websites

Feminist Studies The first scholarly journal in Women's Studies, founded in 1972.

Room Magazine Canada's oldest literary journal by and about women, founded in 1975.

Ms. Magazine Started in 1971 and published on and off since then, Ms. was the first mainstream feminist magazine.

Bitch Magazine Founded in 1996 and available in print as Bitch: Feminist Response to Pop Culture, most news and opinion content is also available on the website.

Feministing An online feminist community founded in 2004

Feminist Frequency: Conversations with Pop Culture Founded by Anita Sarkeesian in 2009 as an educational resource toward critical media literacy.
