I shout. He shouts it back.\n\nI rinse my teeth. He opens his mouth \nand snaps it in place. I splash my face,\n\nhe dabs his lips. I wipe my chin \nand fetch a comb. He combs his scalp\n\nand turns away. I click the lights and \nshut the door. It\u2019s my life he lives and\n\nlikes, flashing my smile and chewing \nmy sausages while I gum oatmeal.\n<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>__________<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:25px\"><strong>The Visitors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size\">You\u2019re a tight-lipped shark \nwith youthful rows of teeth\u2014\nif only they\u2019d install your dentures.\n\nYour lips are blue, your sunken chest \ncries, Don\u2019t leave me like this!\neven as your gums can\u2019t move.\n\nShould I get his teeth from the car? \nsays your daughter\u2019s husband.\n\nDon\u2019t bother, says your daughter. \nThey\u2019re going to sew his lips together.\n<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>__________<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:25px\"><strong>Sestina With Teeth Expanding Like A Lie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-medium-font-size\">\u201cLife \nflies \nfast. \nSo \ntake \nnote.\u201d\n\n\u201cLees left this note.\u201d \n\u201cTook his own life?\u201d \n\u201cYeah, come take his... white flies!\u201d \n\u201cSuicide? How so?\u201d \n\u201cDunno\u2014too fast.\u201d\n\n\u201cDicks are on the way. Hold fast. \nDon\u2019t touch a thing. Put the note \nback where you found it so \neverything\u2019s as when he was alive.\u201d \n\u201cTeeth everywhere. Teeth, like flies, \nare swarming his head. Please take\n\nthe mess away. I\u2019m here to cook and clean not to undertake \nhis . . . other affairs.\u201d  \u201cGo on.\u201d  \u201cLees was eating breakfast\u2014 \nno bones nor crunchy fruit that would snap teeth off like flies. \nHe eats alone, no family nor friends\u2014whatever that connotes.\nI was going to refill his coffee and found the lowlife\u2019s \nface on his plate and teeth swarming the place. And also\n\nthat note under his saucer.\u201d  \u201cLowlife?\u201d  \u201cDon\u2019t get me started.\u201d  \u201cSo  \ndid you see an intruder? Hear gunshots?\u201d  \u201cNo, I\u2019d made him a shiitake \nmushroom omelette and was cleaning up the kitchen, watching Life- \ntime. Went to refill his coffee. That\u2019s when I found\u2014\u201d  \u201cNot so fast!\nWhen you first saw him, what\u2019d ya do? Shriek? Run? Read the note?\u201d \n\u201cSpilled the coffee\u2014burnt myself. Never saw so many teeth like flies\u2014\n\nhis head was a hive of teeth! Ran to get my phone in the foyer. Teeth sure flies \nwhen you\u2019re calling 9-1-1. The dispatcher told me to wait outside the house.\u201d  \u201cSo\nthe teeth and a gunman weren\u2019t enough to scare you outside?\u201d  \u201cNo, I\u2019d read the note \nand knew it was suicide. Any gunman would\u2019ve shot me already.\u201d  \u201cThen what? Take\nit slow.\u201d  \u201cA uniform came, told me to stay put. He went inside and came back out fast, \nrunning to his cruiser to radio for help. Then you came.\u201d    Now the lab-coated life\n\nwill come with cameras and tweezers. Greta crumples the note, her teeth chattering like flies.\nIf her story doesn\u2019t jive with the forensics, she\u2019s facing life. She bit Lees to death a week ago, so \nthe details must take into account her toothmarks and a week of decay. She\u2019d better think fast.\n<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>__________<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Kenton K.
