Congratulations for completing your freshmen orientation summer session!  To fully receive credit for attending orientation, you are required to attend a designated number of welcome back activities.  These programs have been especially selected for first-time students as a way to connect you to the University and its many resources and opportunities.

To receive credit for freshmen orientation, you must attend 5 of the 10 possible programs.  Programs are balanced between morning and evening times to account for varying schedules.

  • Full attendance – These programs have a start and end time.  Participants are expected to be present for the extent of the program.  Each program, aside from Cowboy Camp, will run for approximately 60-90 minutes.

  • Limited attendance – For these programs, you are not required to be present for the extent, but will be expected to check-in during the window of time specified.  You will complete a punch card/ sign-in sheet to validate your participation.  On average, this will take an estimated 30-45 minutes to complete.

Please have your McNeese ID at each program.  It will be scanned to confirm your attendance.

If you do not complete the required number of programs by the end of the Engage Track, you will receive an “I” or Incomplete grade assessment for orientation.  You also may be forced to re-enroll in the Freshmen Orientation course, which will increase your fee bill for subsequent semesters.
