Parent Orientation

Parent Orientation Information

Welcome to Parent Orientation 2018!  We are excited that you will take the opportunity to visit our campus and become more informed of how you can support your students. This program will introduce you to several support services for your students and other information pertinent to you as family members of incoming students.  We welcome you to the McNeese family!  If you have any questions regarding Parent Orientation contact the Office of Student Affairs at 337-475-5706 or email

Parent orientations scheduled for the summer of 2018 take place on the following dates: May 16, May 24, June 8, June 14, June 28, July 11, August 16 (concurrent with freshmen orientation dates).

Is Parent Orientation the same as the Academic Signing Day Parent Workshop?
No.  Information presented at Parent Orientation is much more in-depth.  Also, at parent orientation you have the opportunity to interact with many more administrators and lots of time is dedicated to Q&A.  The parent workshop at Academic Signing Day only introduces you to information you need to know as a parent of a McNeese student.  Parent Orientation prepares you to be a solid, supportive parent of a McNeese student; informed of services and opportunities you can encourage your student to take advantage of.
