McNeese Rodeo Update (June 16)

(June 16, 2016) McNeese State University rodeo team members have finished their go rounds and must now wait until Friday’s competition is over to see if they made it into Saturday’s championship finals of the 68th College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo. The top 12 qualifiers in each of the nine events qualify for Saturday’s championships. 

Here are the current standings after three go rounds:
 
Chad Rutherford, Burleson, Texas, is tied for 7th place in bareback riding.
 
1st go: 17th place with a score of 69.0
 
2nd go: 22nd place with a score of 64.0
 
3rd go: 2nd place with a 76.0 score
 
Cole Frey, Morganza, is No. 8 in team roping.
 
1st go: 26th place with a score of 12.1
 
2nd go: 16th place with a score of 8.3
 
3rd go: 5th place with a score of 7.0
 
Tyler Baeza, Beaver Dam, Ariz., is in 12th place in saddle bronc riding.
 
1st go: 17the place with a 51.0 score
 
2nd go: tied for 3rd place with a 71.5 score
 
3rd go: No Score
 
Alex Edmonds, Paris, Ark., is No. 12 in the bareback riding category.
 
1st go: 20th place with a 67.0 score
 
2nd go: 25th place with a 61.5
 
3rd go: Tied for 7th place with a 71.5 score
 
Mia Manzanares, Opelousas, is in 12th place in breakaway roping.
 
1st go: 39th place with a score of 15.5
 
2nd go: 1st place with a score of 2.1
 
3rd go: 7th place with a score of 2.7
 
McKenzie Cooper, DeQuincy, is in 33rd place in goat tying.
