McNeese Rodeo to Host Annual Event

(October 28, 2014) The McNeese State University Rodeo Team is holding its annual rodeo at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, and at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, in Burton Coliseum, with Louisiana Express playing during intermission Saturday night.

Over 400 rodeo athletes representing 12 collegiate rodeo teams from the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association's Southern Region will compete in both men's and women's divisions.

Tickets are $10 and admission is free for children ages 4 and under. McNeese students get in free with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance at Patton's Western Wear in Lake Charles. For more information, call 475-5690.

In the men's division, competition will be held in bareback riding, tie down roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, team roping and bull riding. Events for the women include barrel racing, breakaway roping and goat tying.
