McNeese Rodeo Results - November 2014

(November 11, 2014) The McNeese State University women’s rodeo team took first place while the men’s rodeo team took third place in the recent 60th annual McNeese Rodeo competition.

In the women’s all-around category, McKenzie Cooper, DeQuincy, finished as reserve champion, with Kyla Foster, Sweetlake, in third place, and Kirsten Smith, St. Francisville, in fourth place.  

Cooper took first place in the breakaway roping competition, while Emily Wright, DeRidder, finished second, Paige Plush, Merryville, finished tied for third, Smith finished tied for sixth place and Foster finished tied for eighth place.

In goat tying, Jacquelyn Gregory, Lamar, Mo., and Cooper tied for third place, while Foster came in fifth, Carly Hibbs, Prineville, Ore., came in sixth and Smith came in seventh.

Brant Brummett, Reeds, Mo., won the saddle bronc riding competition.
Orrin Fontenot, Baton Rouge, won the steer wrestling competition, with Josh Denison, Iowa, finishing in fourth place and Bobby Abernathy, Athens, Ala., finishing in 10th place.

In the tie down roping event, Isaac Fontenot, Ville Platte, finished in fourth place, while in bareback riding, Jesse Anderson, Unionville, Mo., finished in sixth place.
