{"id":5275,"date":"2011-03-17T15:22:03","date_gmt":"2011-03-17T20:22:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/policy\/ie_policy\/fundraising_policy\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T13:59:40","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T18:59:40","slug":"fundraising_policy","status":"publish","type":"ie_policy","link":"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/policy\/fundraising-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"Fundraising Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading display-3\">Purpose<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>McNeese State University ensures that fundraising activities are conducted in accordance with applicable University, state, and federal guidelines, and that fundraising programs and agreements support fulfillment of the University\u2019s mission. The University maintains financial control of all funds with the same prudence as it exercises over internally funded activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading display-3\">Policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The president has delegated authority to the executive director of the McNeese Foundation to approve fundraising activities for all reporting areas at McNeese State University subject to applicable laws, regulations, and policies. If a department or unit wishes to conduct a fundraising activity, the individual responsible for conducting the fundraiser should receive written permission from their administrative supervisor (dean, department head, or director).&nbsp;Upon the supervisor\u2019s approval, the written approval should be directed to the executive director of the McNeese Foundation for approval.&nbsp;The written request must include the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A thorough description of the fundraising activity;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Information about the proposed use(s) of the funds; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The name(s) of the individual(s) responsible for collecting the funds.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the fundraising activity is approved, the executive director of the McNeese Foundation will assist the department\/unit in the establishment of a restricted University account or McNeese Foundation account, as deemed appropriate by the executive director of the McNeese Foundation in consultation with the vice president for business affairs.&nbsp;This account shall be used for the management and control of all funds raised and expended in connection with the fundraising activity and shall be subject to audit by the University\u2019s internal auditor, by the Office of the Legislative Auditor, and by the McNeese Foundation\u2019s official auditor.&nbsp;Throughout the course of the fundraising activity, any solicitations for donations from specific donors should be coordinated with the executive director of the McNeese Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading display-3\">Communication<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This policy is distributed via the University Policies webpage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"parent":0,"template":"","policy_types":[13],"class_list":["post-5275","ie_policy","type-ie_policy","status-publish","hentry","policy_types-business-and-finance"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/policy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ie_policy\/5275","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/policy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ie_policy"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/policy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/ie_policy"}],"version-history":[{"count":5,"href":"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/policy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ie_policy\/5275\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":16499,"href":"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/policy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ie_policy\/5275\/revisions\/16499"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/policy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=5275"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"policy_types","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/policy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/policy_types?post=5275"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
